Teaching maths is my passion! Just as one does not need to be a botanist to enjoy gardening, there is a misconception that maths is only just for a selected few and the enjoyment of maths is only for those super gifted in it! No, maths is for everyone! AND there is enjoyment of the subject in store for each person. This is what I want to share.

I have always enjoyed the subject, specialised in it at school, during teacher training, and throughout my career as a classroom teacher. With over 20 years of experience in education, I enjoy sharing the joys of maths with others. I love helping students overcome difficulties with maths and equipping other educators to become more confident and effective.

My perspective on learning is shaped by a wide range of experiences. I was educated under one curriculum, trained as a teacher in another, taught for nearly a decade in a different one, homeschool my own children in yet another, and also tutor other students learning under various curricula. This broad exposure to multiple approaches and materials has shaped my belief that children thrive when taught in the way they learn best.

I am the founder of Homeschooling in Rest, a consultancy supporting new homeschooling parents and also share insights and practical tips about homeschooling on my YouTube channel, Homeschool with Angela.

I live in Durbanville, South Africa, with my husband and two sons. I am also involved in children’s church and worship ministry.
